We are a participating Laptop ConneCT library. Laptop ConneCT is a recently introduced statewide initiative program by the Connecticut State Library and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), that will make laptops available for loan and on-site use for eligible Connecticut residents through participating public libraries.

To receive a device, Old Lyme residents must be at least 18 years old, have a valid library card, participate in a qualifying state or federal assistance program (listed below), and attest that they do not have access to a sufficient personal computer at home. An adult may also receive a device on behalf of a minor in their household. No household may receive more than two laptops.

Qualifying State and Federal Assistance Programs Include:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)/Low-Income Home Energy Assistance
    Program (LIHEAP)
  • Medicare
  • HUSKY Health (Medicaid/The Children’s Health Insurance Program)

If you are interested and eligible in this program please reach out to Jess Steding at 860-434-1684 x120 or jsteding@oldlymelibrary.org. This program will be starting in November 2026.
