Care Team (dinner)
- responsible for picking up dinner, snacks, and drinks from Big Y (for the evening’s youth volunteers; ordered and paid for by the library)
- Time frame: drop off to the Library at 3:45 PM on October 31, Halloween!
Greeter
- support with welcoming and directing attendees to entrance (perhaps give out candy and bookmarks)
- Time frame: Friday, October 30, 5:15pm, at Old Lyme Library (mandatory orientation and safety meeting) AND Saturday, October 31, 4:15PM-8:15 PM (greeting+welcoming)
Make Up
- assist actors with attaching simple prosthetics and spray blood etc (some previous experience might help, but our needs are casual)
- come to the Horror Makeup workshop on October 20th at 5:30pm for a primer
- Time frame: Saturday, October 31, 3:00-4:30 PM
Friday Workdays
- assist Middle Schoolers to make props for the cellar (and other haunted house needs as assigned!)
- Time frame: either Friday, October, 16 or Friday October 23 or Friday October 30 2:30-4:00 PM
Sunday Install
- Begin to build out the space; backdrops, hanging lighting, hanging props, sound tests- basically set design!
- Time frame: Sunday, October 25, 2-5pm
Costumes
- If the costume swap doesn’t provide, help to gather each character’s outfit (fairytale themed, wolf, knight etc, details to come!)
- Time frame: flexible, just need to be in contact with Nike
Photography/ Videography
- Film the installation with attention to the low light!
- And edit the footage for promotional use
- Time frame: Saturday, October 31, 4:00 PM and again at 7:45PM
Light entrance + exit
- Hang signage and lighting at the exit point.
- Time frame: some flexibility, Thursday or Friday afternoon preferred, Oct 29 or 30
Clean up
- Help to sort, pack, and store Haunted cellar materials neatly
- Time frame: Monday November 2 and Tuesday, November 3 1:00pm-3:00pm
