The mission of the Old Lyme Room is to identify, collect, organize, preserve, and provide public access to the materials that document the economic, natural, political, and social history of Old Lyme.
As of March 1st, 2008 the Old Lyme Room will be locked. Please register with the Reference Desk for access.
If you need help getting started, or need a specific resource, please ask one of the reference librarians for assistance. Other related materials may be found in the general collections. You may visit and use the Old Lyme Room during regular library hours or email the Reference Desk.
The Old Lyme Room was made possible through the generous donation of Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay Wilson in 1995 during the major expansion to the library. Another significant donation was made in 1998 by Mr. and Mrs. John Niblack of Old Lyme.
The library accepts unconditional donations of materials that fit the Old Lyme Room’s collecting policy. Of primary interest are local histories and genealogies. The library reserves the right to decline any and all gifts. The library accepts and welcomes monetary gifts that can be used to purchase needed materials and supplies. If you would like further information, please contact the Library Director, Katie Huffman, at 860-434-1684×110.
