Adventure Begins: Teen July Activities!

Adventure Begins at Your Library!
Pick up your Adventure Begins at Your Library game board on or after June 12!

Each completed activity earns a raffle ticket – use your tickets for a chance to win prizes. Stop by the Library today to pick up your game board, or print it from this page after the events listing. Complete the whole board and automatically win a prize. All tickets must be submitted by August 15, 2024.

July Teen Adventure Begins Events:

Monday, July 8th at 6:00pm – Competitive College Admissions: What’s new for this year?
Free workshop for high school students and parents. Learn tips and strategies for applying to competitive colleges in 2024/2025. Join us for this 30 minute Zoom presentation followed by Q&A.  Presented by Big Green College Prep of Guilford, CT. 

Registration required; zoom link will be sent 24-48 hours ahead of the program. Live viewing option also available at the Library, upon request. Please note this preference in the registration.

Tuesday, July 9th at 3:00pm – Summer Stitch Club
Practice hands-on skills, meet new people, and make something fun and functional! Summer Stitch Club will offer a new activity every session as well as visiting artists sharing their unique expertise. All activities are suitable for both beginners and those looking to grow their experience. Free, all materials provided. For grades 6-12.

Thursday, July 11th at 4:30pm – Italian Conversation Class with Giovanna
Are you curious about learning the basics of Italian language and culture? Then this class is for you! In the first class, we are going to focus on introductions and pronunciation, with a little bit of customs at the end. 
Designed to provide an opportunity to learn basic Italian language skills, it’s perfect for beginners who have little or no prior experience. For ages 12-112.

Registration required for each session.

Saturday, July 20th at 11:00am – Boba Tea Book Club
Drink Boba Tea, fruity or creamy flavors, your choice, and talk about the best books you’ve been reading recently!

If you’re looking for book recommendations and want to meet other local readers your age, this is the place to be.

Recommended for Grades 8+
